Hi, my GS300 just had it's 20k service at a Lexus dealer. The dealer reported 80% wear on both front and rear pads and susgested I had them replaced at a cost of about £400 saying they wouldn't last to the next service.

This is my first Lexus after 2 Rover 800s, 2 BMW5 and 2 E Class Mercs. In all this time I've never replaced front pads under 30k and have never had to replace rear pads despite doing upwards of 20k a year.

Is this sort of wear normal on Lexus?

i'd say... Buy the Pads from Mr one and only...Chris Shipley.

And then have a local guy fit them... probally end up saving loads... and prob's not effect any warranty neither.

Thats what i did on my IS200.. I think the AUTOMATIC cars wear out pads quicker then manual... am i right?
