Hi I am new to the owners club and after having an IS200 which suffered the usual lighting issue I sold it.I now have a 2004 GS430 Sport which has a VSV light on and fault shows its the VSV valve that needs replacing. Part on order and fingers crossed it does the trick.

Hi John

Thanks for reply ,i have it booked in this Monday at a local garage. The car hesitates under hard acceleration when it hits 4000 revs (sounds amazing )but under normal acceleration it picks up fine . Will have to see it this helps.

I had this code a year or so back but have not bothered with it. Apparently it only really comes into play over about 4,000 revs so it doesn't cause me any issues. I can start car and drive for days with no warning light on and then it will come on when engine is started and then stays on for maybe 1 or 2 journeys or sometimes a few days then nothing again for days. Doesn't affect me at all although I have been told it can affect fuel economy at higher speeds but I only do around 3,000 miles a year in it now so again no real issues for me. My trusted local garage says around 7 hours labour.

Just got my car back from the garage today VSV changed ,now no lights or hesitation and goes like a dream. Funny though the mechanics found a mouse nest under the manifold, including mouse bones and chewed vacuum hoses and wires to the vsv chewed through. Glad I took it in.
