2008 Gs 450H Door Locking

Hi guys,

just bought 450h from IS 220d and on my old car the drivers door only opened when I wanted to get out unless you used the switches on the door. The local Lexus dealer changed that so that within 10 seconds I could open my door and the others would open.

I was reading through the manual and it looks like it says that I can make the car open all the doors when it goes into park which I would like to do but I cant get the steps in the manual work. Does anyone know if it can be done by me and not by the dealer? or does it have to be programmed by the dealer.

You should be able to do it..........have a full read of this thread on a USA owners site. The solution seems to be in the timing as explained towards the end

When I had a 450h all doors opened when put into park... I'm sure you can do it, I know in my 600hl when I got it last year only drivers door did and I read manual and programmed it to open all......

Tried everything. As its already in park, I

Open the doors

Close the door

Power on

Hold drivers door unlock for 5 seconds and nothing.

Cant see how else to do it, tried locking the door when I get in first too.

I guess ill just have to get Lexus to do it when they have it for a recall in a weeks time.

That process comes from the manual.

Got in the car this morning and did it again and it worked! no idea why, didnt do anything different but glad I could do it and not have to ask Lexus.

couple of years ago i was prgaramming an additonal key to my Mark 4 ls400 - its a long drawn out procedure consisting of ignition on/off, press brake pedal, door lock unlock 5 times ....................... u get the idea

t took me about 50 attempts over several days untill it finally worked - dont know why it took so long lol
