The Only Thing My Wife Doesn't Like..........

about my recently acquired IS300h Premier..............................is the clock!!!!!!

She has mentioned this numerous times and she says it should either be digital or at least illuminated in the daylight.

I suppose thats not too bad all things considered.

I'm with your wife (not literally!) but my wife thinks that the clock is a big improvement on the one in our previous IS250. I suppose that it's a matter if taste.

The clock is a source of amusement to everyone that gets in the car, with comments usually about it being an afterthought in the design, and how it doesn't really fit with the high tech design etc.

I explain it is a special Lexus clock, crafted by samurais in Japan and extremely high tech and expensive!

I think the dashboard clock with an analogue dial was a slightly retro design choice inspired by equivalents on

many high-end cars past and present. A digital lcd clock like that on the previous IS was probably felt to give

an excessively "Japanese" and too cheap an impression.

The only problem I have with the analogue, which I otherwise like well enough, regards the shininess of its

components, which can make the time difficult to read in direct sunlight.

Not got my car yet, but the first thing my wife commented on in the IS300h when we got in it at the showroom was the clock.

She liked it. And, so do I.

Not spent any real time with it but I think its a nice touch...

Yes I like it too but, I would prefer it to be illuminated during daylight hours. As Rabbers said earlier, it can be difficult to see in very bright sunlight.

I wish it could be turned off at night, I like driving with the display off sometimes, but I can always see that clock out the corner of my eye.
