Hi,

I have just recently added wireless phone charging & wireless phone display to my IS250.

Click here for the demonstration video.

The phone I used is a Nexus 5 running Android 5.0.1. I created a custom App called CarCast to automate the connection. I’m making the App available for you to download and use free. However you’ll have to download some supporting Apps and there is a cost for the supporting App. I have no affiliation with the 3rd party Apps.

Click here for the CarCast App and instructions.

I’ve still got some spare components to make the Wireless Charging kits. If people are interested I just need to order one more component to make these up. Let me know and I can put some together. Otherwise enjoy the DIY and show it off to your friends, look no wires :)

That's cool, been look for something like that, the others I have seen replace the whole sat nav unit. I would be interested in the getting hold of the iVIC.

Never even thought of using a ChromeCast! Looked at a iMac years ago in the '200, too much work tho.

Nice one. :hocus-pokus:

That awesome! Does it work for iPhones? Not visted the website yet. Also does it work on all sat nav based is250 or is it for 2009+ hd based units?

Ps: website doesn't work

apple iPhones cannot detect the iVIC Bluetooth, which is how the unit sends the touch screen commands to the phone. So you will not be able to get touch integration. You could probably get the screen casting to work using apple TV as that uses a HDMI output (I cannot confirm this as I do not have an apple TV device). You will not get wireless charging as iPhones don't have that feature either.

I'm still working on website thanks :)

The company that makes the iVIC is in the USA. I bought the iVIC of amazon and they shipped to Australia. Maybe you might be a be able to find a seller that ships to the UK.

Have you tried this on your S5? I would like to know how it works on other phones.

I've just updated the CarCast App to Version 1.1. There was a bug when you switched OFF/ON the CarCast App. Check the link for the latest version and release notes. Please uninstall the previous version before installing the new version.
