I'm seriously thinking of having one installed.

Has anyone had one pro-fitted to an is250? I don't want to see any cables etc. How much was the fit?

Any recommendations on which one to fit? I did find a good website where some guy has reviewed dozens of them but would welcome anyone else's experience.

Yes I have one. I purchased a Panorama X2 which is a front and back jobby but, I was lucky because I was just purchasing my IS300h and got the dealer to include the fitting as part of the deal. All of the wires/cables both front and rear are hidden from view.

If you dont already know about it, go and have a look at this forum, I found it very helpful

I fit one to my previous car, I wired it into the rear view mirror electrics. The wire showing was about 3 inch long with a mini USB connecting the camera.

It was all hidden by the rear view mirror. Neat job if I say so myself.

It needs installing in the Lexus.

Yes, front & rear. Installation isn't something I'd DIY, as it's run underneath the header which can be quite tricky.

Mine is an miwitness, but honestly the performance in the dark isn't good. I'd recommend against the cheap Chinese ones on eBay - bad performance in anything less than perfect light and don't expect any software updates. Installation, done properly can cost as much as the dashcam itself if you go for front & rear.

Example night time comparison:

Even from a single manufacturer, there can be a lot of variation between models:

And don't bother with the 'night time' images/videos that are in reality fairly well lit.
