Very interesting read, I have the required class 0 gloves for live working if anyone would like to borrow them and have a go :)

One thing not elaborated on is how he got the pack out of the car and onto the bench.

Many people have repaired a Battery pack. This is one reason why I don't consider an older hybrid vehicle to be a bad choice, you don't need to purchase a new Battery pack from Toyota for thousands of pounds if it fails.

Granted not everybody has the skill set, equipment or time to do it themselves but you can get secondhand Battery packs taken from scraped vehicles, and there are companies out there that will attempt repairs; cleaning contacts or replacing individual cells for example.

Very interesting and shows just how simple and basic the main system is, but how the hell is a single worker in his garage going to get that heavy pack out, more chance of being crushed than electrified :)

The 400h Battery is different to the Camry. Each pack is made out of 8 cells rather than 6, the overall capacity is greater. The pack is at least broken down into three which probably makes it easier to handle.
