I got a computer diagnostics done by my mechanic and was all fine,

He checked the Cats they are fine and he doesn't see what's wrong

  • 2 weeks later...

Probably i would say the same when i want to steal a bit of money from you. I woudn't think its cat at all, take it of, take it for a drive see how it goes without it. But maybe its lack of fuel mixture in the cylinders, check compression of cylinders. Hopefully its something easy, cat from dealers might be very expensive, and most of times they are wrong, even they fix the problem they will fix it other way around. I hope you trust the person who u gave the car bud

Did a full service on the car today and while the plugs were out I done a compression test all were similarly just above 170... After service car still drives the same... Lacking power and shuttering from 4000 revs upwards was wondering if the vvt solenoid was faulty or filter was blocked would it cause my problem?

Not enough air, check your Air filter clean it, check your throttle body. Something is really wrong sometimes. I hope you do d job urself cuz all this cost more to do in somewhere, just get a new engine with low mile lol. What spark plugs u used?

But if map sensor was gone it should do it hot or cold no? Is there anything else that could be causing it to do this... Lately it's once it gets warm after been drove for awhile it will start to lose the power be sluggish going up in revs nd at 3500rpm start to fight with you and shutter and refuse to rev or sometimes goes up a bit only like as if cars under pressure...

u can plug in computer it should read about 4.5 PSI
Try checking if the intake does take air, if the butterfly opens fully on pressed gas, u can only see if the car is running.

Yesterday I changed the vvt solenoid cleaned the little filter with it and changed map sensor and cleaned throttle body, now car idles high but I'm told that's common after cleaning throttle body and will go away eventually, took car for a drive seemed completely new loads more power but still some slight jerking at 4000rpm :/ so still not 100%
