I have noticed this on a few cars (but might be just me)

Does anyone notice the responsiveness of cars increase when the tank gets low (range of 80 miles or less) I have noticed it a few times on this car - anyone know why?

The improvement you are experiencing may be due to the vehicles power to weight ratio in as much as the vehicle weighs less as the fuel tank empties with use. An IS fuel tank.when fully fuelled ,contains approximately 70 Litres of bio diesel weighing approximately 60kg , close to the weight of a small adult. A this depletes the car may well seem to have a slight change in performance. Just a theory and the less the vehicles weighs then the better it will perform. Sure there will be other thoughts proffered.

Ive never noticed with any car Ive had it being perceptibly faster with less fuel - they must be too a small degree - simple physics as outlined above.

Quick bit of googling shows a litre of fuel = 0.7 kg. So from full to 10 litres remaining is only a drop in weight of 35kg which is very little difference to a car whose weight is around 1600k.g. with driver. I must make a difference, but I doubt you can actually percieve this. Placebo effect maybe?
