Roofrack

Need to get a roofrack for occasional use on my is200. Do Lexus make one that you can get from the dealer? If so is it expensive or am I better off going to Halfords and getting me a thule one or one from somewher else?

About £145 I think but my dealer gave me some off as I'd bought the car from there so think I paid about £120. Bit more than a universal one but there's no faffing around to adjust it and no worries over it marking the roof - it's a perfect fit and really secure. Locks in place too.

i have a thule one and it worked out similar to a genuine one, its really easy to use and very stable - has rubber on the feet so it wont mark the paint and also locks

Yes they come up on eBay now and again. I got some earlier in the year, cost about £50.

I got some Lexus original ones off an eBay like site in Holland (marktplaats.nl) for 45 euros. It is amazing what you can find when searching with the keyword "lexus" (you _do_ have to put aside the immense amount of fake rear light clusters for other cars )

On eBay in the search field:

lexus -lights

that gets rid of most of them. Good unless you are looking for lights

My car came with roof bars. The previous owner bought them and kindly passed them onto me. Jolly nice fella ;)

But I've haven't used them....yet

Why is it they make Euro Altezza style lights for every car except the lexus...I want some for my car :P
