Hi all

Sorry i havent been on here for sum time now. Can sumone please help me with my Lexus is200 Year 2000)? Iv fitted a new steering wheel today and boss kit. I'v remove the air bag to fit the steering wheel. and i have to fit a resistor to stop the air bag light comeing on. What i need to no is..... WHAT SIZE RESISTOR DO I NEED.. I have tryed a 3.0 OHM Resistor But this did not stop the light comeing on the dash. Do i need to Plug up to the ECU???. Am i right in thinking if i remove Battery for 15min say This will clear the ecu of its fault codes.Or do i still have to plug up to clear code. Im sure sumone has done the same as i have done and with the same fauit. I just hope He/She? read this and helps me to sort my one out. One more thing i had to remove and Relocate the Cruise control buttons but i don't no where to relocate them. Can sumone help me with that one? I was going to leve them off Seem's the best thing to do. Thats about it for now. lol I'd like to say a big thank you for helping me if you can. Wish you all on here the very best. Jason.

I think you may have the wrong resistor as there is no such thing as a 3.0 Ohm resistor, resistors are made to "preferred Values" and the ones near to your value are 2.7 Ohms and 3.3 Ohms, if you do have a 3.0 Ohm resistor I would like to see it.

The resistor should have a colour code consisting of 4 bands, the 1st 3 give the value and the 4th the tolerance.

The link below shows a suitable value resistor and describes the fitting and how to check it is correct in value.

Just remember to disconnect the Battery and wait at least 10 minutes before doing any work on the SRS?Airbag system for safety reasons, you don't want to start poking around the drivers side to suddenly find the passenger airbag is activated.
