Imaginative price for a nice model LS, offered with a slightly inaccurate description, by a dealer with somewhat strange feedback. If I were interested, I could only buy after a thorough inspection.

Better yet, bilmac's may still be available.

Can I check the specifics of your reservations? I have just started researching the market and liked this, though I thought the pricing looked ambitious.

.. I would look at the Hook garage one at £1100 albeit with 295k miles .... could be the bargain of the year tbh .............. worth a look maybe

Hook 295k £1100 ??? Any more info? Google is not helping me . . .

In an ideal world it would be a 2005 ish LS430 with no more than two owners and a full history.

Probably this one, though it's plenty of time to go above £1100 before the auction end.

Well I see this is a very helpful forum I have just joined :)

300k is a but much for me as I will be paying others to do my maintenance, but thanks for finding the vehicle for me.

I like the colour scheme, mileage and service history of the Glasgow car but it is a very long way from me . . . I did find some positive feedback on the dealer outside of eBay, which wa encouraging. Thank you for re-visiting your opinion in some depth, much appreciated, and indeed for bringing it to the forum in the first place.

I have been reading some recent threads and am intrigued by the fact that an LS costs 1800 euro a year to tax in Ireland. Which surely must push their value over a cliff when they reach the age I am looking at.

For reference, I currently have a 1991 Mercedes 300SL which I plan to keep, and am looking for a Lexus to join it as a long-term project too. No rush, got to be a good one.

Thanks folks

......I would think that the 300k miler has been serviced at some great expense during it's life and these cars can go on and on and on with impeccable service ........... there's that Ls400 in the States with a very credible 897k miles.

I wouldn't discard an oldie from your thoughts if it's history is good and the car looks good too ....... might be far less cost to maintain than one that's newer, far more expensive to buy, and just about to need something seriously major doing

My first Ls400 1992 one was supplied new to someone ( not me ) by Evans Halshaw as a Lexus main dealer

That one looks to be the age / condition / price formula I am looking for, although I prefer the colour scheme of the Glasgow car. My next step is to take a test drive of an LS430. Desk research suggests it is the roomiest LS, but I still have to test my long back against the headroom. So I need to find one not a million miles from Gloucester / Cheltenham.

Thanks again for all assistance.
