Hi

Just a word of advice. Because i park my car on the driveway it is exposed to the frost during the night and i usually fold in my mirrors with the electric button when i park up. Now i live on the south coast and it got to -3c last night and when i got in the car this morning the frozen mirrors would not move out when i pushed the button. Also the electric windows had frozen up. Even after driving 6 miles to work they had not thawed out with the heated rear window on. Just a heads up maybe leave them out if your not worried about them getting ripped off by passing traffic in the icy weather.

In cold countries like Norway they fold the wiper arms up off the screen when they park at night. Probably a good idea, but I can never remember to do it!

I did once totally destroy the wiper mechanism (on a Vauxhall Cavalier, I think) because they'd been left switched on and were frozen to the screen. Very inconvenient start to the day - no way you're going to be able to drive anywhere on a cold frosty morning with salted roads with no wipers!

Before I built a car port my wife car used to be left on the drive to get covered in ice. She religiously covered the windscreen in an old bedding sheet. It works a treat, I couldn't be bothered and had to scrape, set off, stop up the road, scrape, set off again etc etc.

After a 25 mile commute at 7 this morning my mirrors nearly didn't fold in when parking up this morning. No problems folding back out this evening as it was a balmy 3° in Gloucester.

I guess that I may get to use the "electrically heated bottom few inches of the windscreen" on my SE-L for the first time tomorrow morning!
