Lexus Specialist (Not Main Dealer) In Midlands Nr Derby/notts

Hi All,

Are there any Lexus specialists or does anyone have any good experiences of garages in the midlands, preferably in the vicinity of Derby/Nottingham that are NOT main dealers?

I own a 06 GS450H and currently have the check engine light on. I have diagnosed the fault via OBD and I am pretty certain that the issue is the VVTI Solenoid is not functioning correctly at random intervals. The main problem is that Derby Lexus are not willing to replace the VVTI solenoid on the car on my say so they want to do a full diagnostic costing £60 per half an hour and they will call after an hour and ask if I want to progress with the fault finding after an hour if they have not found the issue, so potentially I could be looking at a few hundred quid bill before I even get to the work required done.

Are there any garages that have experience with Lexus Hybrid that do not charge the earth for diagnostics and small repairs? While I do appreciate it is an expensive car, I don't want to be seen as penny pinching but I don't have the money for a potentially large bill just for diagnosing a fault.
