Hello Guys,

is any one on here breaking a MK IV?

I have checked eBay but there only seems to be one on there and the part I need isn't available from that one.

I am looking for the nearside rear ABS sensor.

Many thanks.

Steve.

These are relatively cheap from dealers if i recall. May be worth talking to them. But there is a breakers yard near me if you would need any free assistance.

Hope you don't mind me jumping on your thread Steve, but I'm still looking for a MK IV drivers side front wing in blue, though I'd consider another colour now I think, at the right price.

Tow bar would be nice too.

From past experience attempting to remove an old ABS sensor results in terminal damage to it as it is normally well corroded into the hub so I would go with a new replacement.

Hello Guys,

thanks for your replies.

LS400lpg, I have had a quote of just under £200 from a dealer which I think is outrageous for what it is but I may end up having to just pay up, thanks for your offer of local breakers assistance.

Mikeyv, no problem. I hope you find your wing and tow bar soon.

Steve2006, I think you could be right. Mine got trashed while trying to remove it from the hub.

I found one more chap who has one available that I am going to take a punt on but I am not too hopeful that it will work, I will keep you posted.

Once again, thanks for your input.

YES.... but I can't advertise anything as I'm not a GOLD member anymore.( I got a telling off lol a month ago)... Re abs sensors a local lad came round and asked if I was breaking my 400 as he needed a abs sensor, he didn't know which one lol so said he could get all 4 for £100 but payment up front and he takes them off due to me knowing how breakable these are coming off car....well it took 2 days to free them off with no damage and he went away happy and popped in by a couple of days later to say all fitted and working and his 400 now passed mot ps his was a mk111, sensors are the same

I would love to be able to buy a car for spares but I just don't have the room (or money) for one.

I think I may have sourced the sensor I am looking for from a breaker in London, it is supposed to be delivered on Monday. I have my fingers crossed it is the right part and it works OK.

I will keep you all posted.

There's one LS400 breaking (free parts) on our LOC Facebook group & also another one going for free (guy just wants to keep his numberplate) so maybe worth having a look there for parts
