A major reason I bought 2 LS 400s!

My MK3 400 was a better sound than my 460L.....thats for certain :eerrrmm:

Never heard the system in a 430 or 460, but the 400 does sound pretty good, mainly that you can hear good quality (not just quantity) bass while on the move, which is not so easy to achieve.

I found it odd in the review that one fault was the placement of the CD caddy. I personally would have zero intention of fiddling with 6 CD's while on the move, but maybe with USA roads being wider, you can weave about a fair bit before hitting anything.

In his 'Car' review of the Ser 3, Setright complimented the sound system too.

As a lifetime hi-fi fan, this was important in my looking at the car initially!

But apparently Nakamichi went bust, so repair difficult.

The sound system in LS400 is brilliant. 430 ML is close but not quite as good in my opinion.

Just been to B and Q in my 400. I listened to the theme from Road to perdition by Thomas Newman. Absolutely stunning music that sounds amazing in the 400. I just need a system as good as that in my house now.

My mk3 shocked me when i first got the car as still had the 05 sportcross which i thought good,but the LS is in a totally different ball park,as i am a great lover of good sounds,it brought war of the worlds to a higher level :) along with all my other collection of ska/reggae/dance/soul infact everything sounds great in the LS.

But i may wind the window down occasionally when ive doctored the exhaust B)
