I Need A New Battery, Big And Beefy

I have now got the PC up and running in my car but Im having a problem with the power, Pc runs fine until something switches on such as heated seats, rear demister even head lights causes a dip in the power and the computer resets. so im thiking I need a better Battery, I have read that the IS200 Battery is very small for the job it does. so does anyone have any reccomendations? im looking for something that can handle everything switched on at once and fit in the same place as the original lexus Battery.

will they fit in the same slot as the standard Battery? and can they be had from Halfords? I dont fancy paying postage on one lol

I have the Exide deep cycle fitted, it is smaller in size than the stock one but I spaced it out with some rubber tubing.

Also maybe you could adapt a UPS for the car?

a ups would be perfect but im at a premium with space. so im looking at a deep cycle gell Battery any idea on price?

yep, i had the same problem with the audio setup etc..

So i went an bought the Yellow Optima Battery..

It is Brilliant, the car fires up first time every morning, and light on the DVD Screen does'nt dip any more..

They carn' be purchased from Halfords' but any Audio Shop retailer will be able to get hold of one.. :winky:

Couple of companies in Gold that will give discount on them - ones an audio shop the other is a national car accessories company ;)

if you got space, how about 2nd Battery Brett? with duel charge, it will be perfect, my Ex-Mazda had Duel charge system on, with 2 Battery running all the electrics, somethings to think about may be?

I have a Yellow top Optima, it is smaller than the stock Battery . Exide ones are good as well.

In your case, I think a capacitor would be veryuseful aswell to avoid voltage variations.

I have a nice gadget that regulates the Battery voltage to 12V. It also boots up the PC 5 seconds after the car has been started, and shuts it down 15 seconds after the ignition has been switched off.

totally agree, my Optima least 1 week, replaced it under warranty and don't have problem since then (3 weeks), but friends of mine had the same probs too
