Question About Wheel Offset

Has anybody got experience with aftermarket wheel - 7.5x17 ET35 or 8x17 ET32? I want to fit rims with lower ET, but avoid rubbing issues, rolling fenders etc, I'm too old for that :D Or maybe somebody has fitted wheel spacers and would share some details?

Have you tried the calculator on the link below, easy to use just put your present and proposed measurements in and it will tell you the differences.

Thank you, but I know the difference, no need to use calculator. What I do not know, or rather I'm not sure about (and none of the calculators will help here) is if those wheels would fit without rubbing. I have read all threads on American CT200h forum, but I'm still in doubt, as info over there does not match and it is confusing. Have asked the question there but it remains unanswered (most of the interesting topics were over a year old). I have also checked German ABE documents available online (specifies cars each rim will fit, possible tyre sizes and if there are any modifications required) and that did not help as well - e.g. for one rim ABE says you need to roll front fender, and ABE for other rim with exactly same spec - that there is no such need.

Dotz Freeride silver 7.5x17 ET35

I like both, Dare was my favourite until I have seen them today. They have poor quality finish, paint looks bad in corners, there are some kind of surface scratches under paint. Most of that is not visible from a distance, but as much as I like design I do not like the thought of paying full price for low quality goods.

Dotz are great wheels, nice pearl finish, they match chrome trim around windows, and out of the UK can be bout cheaper than Dare (delivery included).

What are your thoughts?

Why don't you just have the ones you have on resprayed? Will be loads cheaper.

My OEM wheels are in perfect condition (just dirty on the picture) and it is not really about the money :D It's about modification, changing the look a little bit, making it different from all the other CTs on the road. I know some may not understand it ad consider it as unnecessary.

I prefer the first ones.

I like the standard wheels but out of the two you have chosen, I would prefer the DOTZ

Thanks Goef. I went today to local wheel shop and wanted to buy Dare wheels, but the supplier is out of stock. May be available in 6 weeks. Maybe it is a sign not to buy them :) I'm not in a hurry anyway.

I like the Dare's but a bit similar to Lexus dealer option ones though, if you are after a really different look.

Mind you I would have in silver, it's all personal choice but I hate black or grey wheels myself, one of main reasons I chose A Luxury over Advance or FSport , only wanted Silver wheels and company car so wasn't allowed to paint them.
