Just Joined - Hi All

Hi

Name is Jim - based in Berks

I'm in that middle aged bracket but left of centre

I have a '98 LS400 with 55l LPG tank and also a '91 Soarer 2.5tt

Also in need of 4x4 as I have a 'W' plate CRV that has just lost compression on Cyl1 so wife has stolen my LS and now she wants an RX!

As a youngster. always had what are now Classic Fords (MKIII Cortina's - wished I had kept them) - then German cars - Audi 5Cyls - through the late 80-90's until I got a Honda Accord in 97 and went Japanese

After an old Mitsubishi Gallant (I drove from Bournemouth to Casablanca in 36hrs in '99) and a Diesel Pajero (Killed by French mechanical incompetence after 12 years), we had a few FTO's and a Nissan Patrol and then the Soarer came along in 2008 and Lexus took over - doubt this will change as very happy with Build, Performance and Quality

I have always bought older cars and now more pertinent given the older high powered cars retain the lower tax bracket.

I only drive automatics and Lexus box quality is perfect

I am not any kind of expert, I am not particularly vocal or an organiser

I like what I like for my own reasons and am happy to talk or help where I can

Off out to find an RX for the wife

Having the LS400 and 2.5tt, will I be disappointed by an older RX with only 190ish HP or does the torque offset that?

Hopefully, end of day will give me better insight
