I have noticed the short distance the headlights shine on low beam. Is this a common problem on LS430? Visibility is still ok, but i am worried because MOT is up soon.

I hope there's no need ot start looking for electronic height control sensors..

I would have thought the dash warning for headlight leveling would show if there's a problem. Is this something you've only just noticed?

There is no warnig lights on dashboard, it just seems the beam is lower compared to LS400 and my other previous cars. I have ordered new 8000K bulbs, see if that makes any difference.

ive had my 430 for 2 years - i had a mark 4 and 3 before that. In my opinion the beam is far better than the previous models - longer and wider - i would suggest getting the beam checked at an MOT station before spending money changing bulbs etc

My last headlamp bulb, about 18 months ago, was only £8 or so and took 5 mins to change !! :whistling:

I replaced my bulbs a couple of months ago, much brighter now. Hopefully you haven't got sausage fingers to get in the way of the job! When I did mine I slid my phone down to get some pictures of how the bulbs and clips fit, impossible to see otherwise.

The LS430 AFS lights are some of the best I've used and have an excellent dipped beam pattern.

The auto levelling system should be setting the Xenons up correctly when you first turn them on. Motors in the lamp assemblies move them up and down according to the info sent via the ECU that controls them. Height sensors are attached to the front and rear suspension. If the lamp motors are working (i.e. moving them up/down as you turn on) it may be that one of the height sensors needs attention.
