Hi my 2003 2nd gen rx 300 power steering pump is on its way out does anyone know the part number so I get the right one

Or does anyone know of a refurb kit ? Or even better where I can get one for a decent price

The pump assembly part code is 44320-48040. There is also a gasket kit available 04446-53030. You can see for yourself on toyodiy.com.

According to the above site the same pump is used on a number of US vehicles (Lexus ES300, Toyota Highlander etc). Take a look at rockauto.com, they would have third party pumps and repair kits available much cheaper, even factoring in shipping and taxes etc.

I had the same problem (Mk2 2003). Lexus could supply just the pump at an horrendous cost, so my service man removed the pump and sent it away for refurbishment, then refitted the unit when returned. Total cost for the whole job including topping up rear axle diff. oil came to £310. Obviously I was without the vehicle for 3 days. I think a replacement unit from Lexus was circa £800, but I am not too sure.

if it's just leaking lexus do a complete rebuild kit for about £30.I had to do mine on a 2005 last year. It may be cheaper to get one from the states but the difficulty is Identifying the right one try Rockauto to identify the part and then shop around.

It's not leaking the belt is squealing on start up I've already changed the belts so it can't be them had it to a local indie who put it on ramp and got me underneath to listen to PS punp which was a little noisy only thing left is pump to change or repair

belt is probably too loose then, squealing is the belt slipping.

I don't thi so like I said had it on ramp yesterday and checked tension was fine
