William (bilmac) kindly went to see this one for me as the wife has taken a likeing for mine

http://www.fonthillcarsales.ie/viewanad.php?ad_id=1179534&r=

and this is his report..........

Hi Mike, I went to see car today, sorry to say it's not a good one, I
was not speaking to David Forde the dealer, but I did examine the car
and spoke to the Mecanic ( again someone I know quite well) who would do
work for him, we both agreed car was not worth the work it would need.

The first thing I noticed was a different coloured rear drivers side
door, then when I looked inside it was filthy, ashtray was overflowing,
no attempt has been made to present this car. Sorry Mike, William

Once again the LOC members demonstrate what a great bunch they are. Cheers William. Mike.

Searching ebay to find this car was a surprise.

They really have dried up haven't they?

Only seven for sale, and two of those are silly priced imports at £7.500 and £12.500!!

I agree with Bluesmans post, although I would prefer to buy a good car and get the conversion done myself.

That might be easier said than done though, with nice ones getting very rare, it seems.

Glad it's your decision not mine, good luck.

So now we want an LOC member to check this car out!

It interested me, but is over 5 hours away!

Dont shoot me down in flames if I am wrong but I have a feeling this one has been looked at before.

One thing I noticed imeadiately from the pictures is the the steering wheel center is grey but the steering wheel is blue. See pic 1900. This could mean its had an accident and the airbag has gone off and this is all they could replace it with. Bags go off I believe in accidents 30MPH and above.

The picture that shows the speedo cluster shows that the engine is running at around 1200rpm and that there is a warning light showing but not sure which warning light that is.

In the picture #1909 you can see where the top of the front bumper meets the front OS wing under the indicator looks to be a different colour. It may just be a trick of the light but in the picture it does notice. Check the same postion on the N/S it looks to be a different colour there as well but not as pronounced.

Might be worth ringing them and putting these points to them see what they say. Mike

I would be put off by LPG (but that's just me). Also whenever i see 16-17 year old car with LPG fitted i start to look carefully for signs of odometer clocking. These systems are fitted for a reason- to save money and obviously it will only pay for itself after so many miles..

Also there is not a single fault mentioned in veichle description?!

Thanks Mike, aka Eagle-eye!! Good spot!

It's not easy. I'm just hoping the twin of Ambermarine's car appears (14 year old ,18K miles.......Garaged.....service history....local...) Will pay extra!

Hi Chris. It will you just need patience. Its like waiting for a bus, you wait for ages then several come along at once.

Good luck Mike.

Interesting point of view, and a fair point, I'm the exact opposite, I hunted for a car that did have LPG, found one with a quality Prinz system, couldn't be happier with it.LPG is better for your engine that petrol, my stainless exhaust is shiny on the inside, if you look up the rear silencer with a torch! I don't think mine's been clocked- 202K miles!

I went out last night with mates.

I seen the £2000 with 335,000 miles from Baz on eBay parked up as we was out socialising. It looks really good as it was polished up. Seen the sticker for sale sign on window. I told my mate what he thought and he said looks brill then he nearly had a heart attack when I told him it had 335,000 on it. Haahahahha
