Best Obd Fault Reader To Buy

Could someone who knows a little bit about fault reading maybe put a link for me to buy one please!!!

There are expensive ones and cheap ones but I am only wanting to check for fault codes on boyh my 2006 Lexus is220D and my 2002 Toyota Yaris.So if someone could help I would very much appreciate the help

I Would also be interested in people's opinions on the cheaper versions, I've seen them on eBay for as little as £30. But life experience is telling me that you get what you pay for and if these cheap ones did an adequate job Garages wouldn't be speaking thousands on systems like they do so i'm not totally sold on these cheap fault finders.

Saying that I would be happy to be proved wrong on this one!

Note, OBD will only get half the info as Toyota use their own CAMBUS.

Same with a few car makes.

I use a el-cheapo one from fleabay which tells me nothing is wrong apart from a sensor.

Really should note down which one it is >.>

It does depend on how indepth you want to go - The one below I bought from eBay a few months ago to find out what an error code was.

Easy to use and connected to my Nexus tablet no problem after downloading an app for it - I thought it was handy as I could leave it plugged in and it logged data. It found the cause of the error straight away.

One thing to note.

Had an odd issue with the car - Lots of electronics not working from time to time.

Happened about 3 times.

Unplugged the Bluetooth OBD reader - Never happened again!

So IMHO, don't leave them in all the time :)

I've got one of those Bluetooth ones off fleabay,works ok with my Alfa and the laptop.I also used a cable reader one in my RX8 along with DashCommand software from PalmerPerformance.
