Is it just me but does the RX300 have a big turning circle. Im finding mine a bit difficult to parallel park or swing into parking spaces at supermarkets etc.. I m getting used to it but just wonder how other folks find it.

Thanks

Dave

I think it must as I find that I cannot drive straight into our barn in France in my RX350 whereas I could easily do this in my old Toyota Surf.

Rear wheel drive cars generally have a tighter turning circle than FWD or 4WD.

Hi. I find it no worse than any other car. You get used to it in no time

The series I is worse than the series II though.

You should try driving an Alfa 156,really embarassing in tight car parks/supermarkets

Well imagine a main road that could fit 4 lanes of traffic across it,i could just about make the U turn from kerb to kerb :D

I've owned my RX400h a whole 5 days so far, and one thing i noticed very quickly was that the turning circle isn't as tight as my last car, but that was RWD so to be expected.

I reverse into my drive each evening so getting plenty of practice, and the reversing camera helps a little (although also disorientates me a little when glancing between that and the wing-mirrors repeated during the maneuver!), and i'm sure it will become second nature soon enough.

Well it isnt just me then,,, getting to grips with it know... its the other impatient drivers who dont understand I have to have a few goes,to get into these spaces..

My previous car was a Volvo V70 which had the turning circle of a supertanker, so my RX300 (cheeky plug: it's up for sale as I'm getting a company car soon) is a doddle to park by comparison!

No it isn't just you. Most people replying have a series II which has a much better turning circle so they don't know your pain.

Recently i was interested in a Nissan Murano and ive been to see a few, firstly i gotta say, amazing car and amazing spec for price, but 2 main things put me off, 1) lacks the prestige of the Lex badge and 2) 3.5 thirsty petrol guzzler!

Anyway, whilst doing a comparison between the RX and the Murano, it says the RX turning circle is 6m and the Murano is 12m. Is that right? the Murano would be double?? If people are struggling to park an RX how on earth will they park a murano?

6m is incorrect.

RX series I 12.6m

RX series II 11.4m

RX series III 11.8m

Those are US figures, they may have given European vehicles more lock due to smaller parking spaces but I don't think so.
