Hello From Another First-Time Lexus Owner!

Hello everyone.

This weekend i've joined the Lexus clan by treating myself to a 'new to me' Lexus RX 400h, specifically an 08 SR on a 57 plate. Also includes the Satnav, Reversing Camera, and Mark Levinson options (but not the power tailgate, or rear screens)

First impressions are that it is great, of course. Love the ML sound quality. The reversing camera is surprisingly useful (having never even had working reversing sensors on previous cars!), and overall the ride is so quiet and relaxing.

My other half has even had a short drive, and commented on how 'it pretty much drives itself'.

You will love driving the Hybrid, but take great care when by pedestrians in car parks etc as they are not aware of your presence.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. A lot of forums you're lucky to get 1 hello from someone, so this is a great start...i'll be hanging round a while I think...

Totally agree about pedestrians. I keep an eye out for them anyway - people didn't seem to hear my previous car, a large engined 6-cylinder with a loud-ish (standard) exhaust until it warmed up, so with the hybrid I have been paying extra attention for them.

Love floating around the car park on electric-only...it makes driving exciting again!

Still early days for getting the hang of hybrid driving but i'm sure the mpg will improve a bit over time as I figure it out better (and also when the weather picks up next spring/summer of course).
