How To Remove Rear Seat Base - Mk4 Ls400

Recommended Posts

Hi chaps

Anyone know how to remove the rear seat base on the mk4 LS400? Got a power cable to route through into the boot! :) I've searched and can't find anything that's worked :(

Many thanks!

Look for my thread from 3/4 yrs ago on how to remove the back seats from a MK3 LS400. I would think they're both the same. Some photos showing where all the fastenings are.

You need a strong flat blade (tyre lever or the like) and push it under the seat front corner and prise up. The springs holding it are VERY strong. Swivel the seat backwards being careful with the wiring and pull apart the bottom of the seat back and back of the seat squab and you will see the nuts holding that part of the seat down.

Just had a look for it. 20 Dec 09. There's 2 posts one from me, 39buss and the other from steve 2006

Did you not try the rear cushion method mentioned in the rear sensors thread Yoda?

hi

if you can locate the plastic plug - it takes just takes a minute to hold the cushion back and drill a hole - then feed a wire through which comes out near the boot gas spring in the back - attach the sensor wire and pull it through - just tuck the wire on the wide of the seat - pop off sill plates - feed the wire and your done.

Cheers Mikey - I haven't yet, I started another job of running a power cable from the Battery to the boot so I could kill two birds with one stone and pull the rear seat bits out at the same time to feed both the power cable through to the boot and the satnav display cable to the parcel shelf at the same time. I've got the power cable through to the rear sill so when I get chance next i'll have a go and feeding them both through :)

Thanks Mark, will try that method if I can!
