Door Not Opening When Handle Sensor Is Touched

I have just had a body shop repair and received my car back after having having a new bumper o/s wing and bonnet and having drivers door painted,I got the car back went to open the door and it would only only pressing the key fob. Also when I open the windows on the key fob I cannot close them on the fob all together, but if I go round to the passenger side the sensor on handle works.

My argument is it worked perfectly before they had it and they took the handle off to spray it and door card and my aftermarket DAB had gone into recovery so had to software update it,so my question is,my problems seem to have been caused their end but they are saying the module that operates the door sensor is broken but my argument is it's happened at the body shop.I have said I may open a credit case if it's found that they have surged power or something else so once I have been to garage I use to get evidence I am stuck but I would be interested what sort of cost I may have to pay if it's found its just a coincidence all thoughts are greatly appreciated

garages always refuse to accept blame, the onus is on you i am affraid. I took a 2.4 honda accord a few years back to some clown to get a clutch done (no easy job on them cars by all accounts), long story short, I got the car back (eventually) with a light on the dash (!), was a dead wheel sensor, no coincidence it was the side that needed to be removed to access the clutch.

had to get a new wheel sensor myself, garage having none of it, clearly they broke it taking off the wheel.

I would totally agree that its very unlikely for that door sensor to fail just like that.

Bump!!!

I would suggest you phone a Lexus main dealer to confirm, just to be sure, they're usually very helpful. Unfortunately you would get many more replies if you were posting something about the "invincible" LS400! Hope you get it sorted soon
