First Lexus

Trying to get some help here.

I am about to buy my best car(Used) so far but still wondering which one.

Atm I am divided btw Lexus IS 220,Mercedes and Toyota same class

Lexus IS 220 is amazing looking car

Mercedes is not so good was before but...dont know

About IS 220D which year is the best?

I think I found it. Gasket problems...

Lexus diesel not option?

Maybe Mercedes or Skoda Superb

When buying what should I worry about?

Well I have a Merc C220 CDI 2004. Its had 7 problems in 10 years:

1 - CD changer completely stopped working. Apparently needs replacing

2 - Main CD player in the dash stops working everytime you brake

3 - Blocked intercooler pipe - £200 repair from Mercedes

4 - Blocked DPF - Car went into complete limp home mode. Tried taking it out on the motorway but maximum speed is 40mph so DPF needed to be unblocked by the dealer

5 - All 4 alloy wheels are leaking air. The faces are completely fine, apparently the backs are rubbish, as told by a friend who fits tyres

6 - Rust starting to develop in the wheel arches. This is a car which is parked in the garage every night and is detailed atleast once every year by myself.

7 - The engine is beginning to make a strange tapping noise but there's no lights on the dash and mechanic cant figure out what it is.

I got scared when I saw,here,this forum,IS 220 D with huge main problem, can cost over 3000p.

This IS 220 D engines,who is the constructor?

Btw,thinking getting Toyota Avensis estate 2011 +

After Lexus my choice would b Mercedes e320cdi sport nice looking car it's fully loaded but it depends on ur budget u can get 1 for 9-10k.good luck Lexus is Toyota anyway iav got. Is220d got 85k on clock no problem yet
