Another Braking Noise Query

When braking - get the old chuffing noise from off-side front.

Sounds like the chuffing you get when the balance weights not set right (had that about a year ago).

But this time only when braking (hard or gentle - makes no difference), where as before it was all the time until weights set correct.

Had new tyres and balance all round a month ago, but as far as I can tell the noise only happening in last few days.

Question: Any reason why (if it is calipers rubbing) why only on braking?

Will take it to tyre depot in next day or two, but wondered in any members think something else going on, that could end up being a bit more serious.

Have you had the wheel off to check? The caliper is so close to the wheel on these cars that the tiniest foreign body will make odd sounds. It could even be something small stuck in the caliper body. I'd be jacking the offending side up and cleaning the obvious areas.
