Battery Replacement Killed Car 220D

Recommended Posts

Hi, my dad is a bit senile and thought that he would charge the Battery on my 220d. After charging he put the Battery in back to front and revved the engine until the car died.

I checked all the fuses and replaced one blown fuse, no joy. Center dash is died, A few warning lights come on the dash. I replaced the alternator but the car wont charge - the engine ticks over in "slow mo" mode until the Battery is drained.

Any advice as this is my only car, I think that the voltage regulator might have blown but I cant seem to find one for a 220d online.

I would be great full for any help

I would say time to buy a new Battery - I had similar problems few months ago when I got in the car the dash did not light up.

Shopped around and in the end Lexus Woodford was the best and cheapest at £89 for new Battery and guaranteed to fit with correct terminals.
