25 to the gallon average, currently around the 3 quid a gallon for lpg, so £60 a week based on those figures.

Obviously, mpg can vary depending how you drive, and you could pay more for lpg....up to 30% more, as the price varies greatly around the country, so my figure can only be a rough guide.

I'm happy that I gassed my LS, but the lack of availability would worry me if I were considering converting now, some areas are pretty thin on the ground already, and I get the feeling that numbers are dropping.

Here are most of the LPG stations in the UK, you can download them onto a Satnav as well. I havent heard of any LPG stations shutting down other than petrol stations which have gone bust or closed for maintanance. I travel exstensivly througout the UK and have never been caught not being able to fill up with LPG.

Most of the large brands are opening new LPG pumps on a weekly bassis.

Dontforget you still have petrol in emergency and gthe systems use petrol to start up with from cold in the mornings.

You soon learn where your LPG statrkions are.

Heres a link http://www.mylpg.eu/stations/united-kingdom

I live in the country, Hampshire and fill up at a Calor Gas depot I pay 65p a litre I always have a big smile on my face when filling and driving.

Good luck. Mike

I am wrestling with same man maths...my ls gets used about 2-300 miles a week and I can afford the fuel....but, I may have a grand or so spare at the end of the month and bluesman has posted you CAN get conversions done down South for less than the 2k iv been quoted up here....my man maths tells me that it doesn't actually MATTER how long it takes to be in the black because the savings would be instantly noticeable....and it's spare money that WILL otherwise be spent on stuff that gives NO return...

Just tried that site, if the results for my area are any indication, then it's yet another inaccurate guide.

I use filllpg, which also has many faults, as does the flogas site.

Incidentally, my home town of Newport has gone from three outlets to one, the Flogas depot having decided it wasn't worth the bother, although they are still selling all their other products.

I now live in Eastbourne, where I can only find one outlet (not the one listed on mylpgeu), the next nearest being 20 miles away.

By contrast, if the lpg map sites can be believed, Bristol and the Midlands are awash with autogas!!

I'd still convert though, if I was doing 500 miles a week in a thirsty motor.
