Shark Fin Antenna

Was looking at pics and realised that is300h doesn't come with a shark fin antenna?

If so, is it worth having it?

It doesn't have any visible aerial as they're all built into the heated rear window elements. Why stick something onto the car's roof when it doesn't need it, besides there's no aerial cable leading to the roof.

not had any issues with mine, even some of the germanobiles with Sharkfins still have DAB/FM aerials in the back window.

I've seen the US IS's appear to have sharkfins, but I assume this is due to them having Sirius XM satellite radio.

Me five - I haven't had any problems with DAB radio - crystal clear sound all the time from lots of different stations and lots of different locations

Sharkfins are too small to be useful for DAB or FM.

They are typically used for satellite antennas (GPS or satellite radio) or mobile phone connections (e.g. for in-car wifi or information systems)

I have a shark-fin on mines and I'm confused as whether it should be there or not?

I have to say it does look cool but i do not know if it is functional or not.

I believe the shark fin came with the premium audio.
 

My standard audio does not have it, 2015 year. 
 

Some f sports have it and the premium version.

Hmmm that's interesting to know 👍

From looking on auto trader it seems from 2016 onwards the premium nav option (mouse control) has the shark fin. It may be to do with connected services. 
I don’t know if the face lift version has it or not. Again a check on auto trader would find out.
