What Are The Benefits

Can someone tell me the benefits of having one of these fitted, as I've ordered one of these custom cooling panels off Fargo (not Cusco though).

instead of the air flow blowing up over the to of your Rad, it will go through the fins in your rad and into the engine bay. cooling your rad better and creating a better airflow into your engine bay. if you look on the tachakira site they have a great photo showing how it works.

looks worth having for running cooler which must be good if your S/C makes it hotter. :zee:

Doesn't that take airflow away from the engine air intake though ?

Unless your engine temp is higher than half way on the temp. gauge the stock system is doing fine and this panel will add no benefit. As with most things designed by Toyota the stock cooling system is overengineered.

The claim that the stock system is 20% inefficient is untrue. That 20% air is being used to cool the engine bay. If you look at an MR2 that has to use side vents and an engine cooling fan to achieve the same thing. It's not just the engine that can overheat there are all the electrics etc. within the bay that need to be cooled.

As Bazza said, it also directs the airflow into the airfilter box..

the blurb on the Takikaira site say that 20% of airflow is lost due to the air escaping elsewhere.. so the panel simply plugs the gaps, keeps the air flowing throught he rad and up the airbox..

Also its bling. :D
