Ok, so I am a bit miffed here.

I took my nav unit out (came from a diesel lexus was missing the 'auto' function on re circulate), i put it back (with faceplate from my original sat nav) and turned car on and it still does not go to auto, it skips it.?

what is going on here, is the diesel sat nav totally different than the petrol? maybe it needs a ecu reset or something... the sat nav itself works fine, its the 'auto' part that does not work.

also the intrusion sensor does not work, it is not showing up on the satellite controls and i am sure it does not work, i waved my hands around etc inside.

The red light is blinking when i arm it, but wondering what is up, i am sure it was showing up on the satellite menu when i got the car and the alarm went off a few times too.

thoughts?

I had a look through the factory manual for the ISs.

The AC systems are different between diesel and petrol. The diesel doesn't have a smog sensor, auto fresh/recirc mode or electric auxillary heaters to assist cabin and engine warmup in winter.

The buttons are part of the nav unit/radio - the nav unit controls the buttons/lights and then sends the appropriate request to the AC system.

I could imagine that a diesel nav unit won't know about the smog sensor or auto fresh/recirc modes.

No idea about the intrusion sensor. I didn't know you could control it. I didn't get an owners manual with mine, so I've only got a US manual, and it doesn't say anything about being able to control the intrusion sensor.

The intrusion sensor should be shown up on the satellite menu, all uk cars have it (se-l spec anyway)

but mine seems to have vanished., it does work as i just checked it now, after about 30 seconds the red light blinks and its armed inside.

about the smog sensor, i know diesels dont have it but mine seems to be not functioning at all. I had a diesel sat nav on (with no 'auto' button'), i removed the sat nav, took off the faceplate, ecu module, and lcd module (basically all the OEM sat nav minus the touch screen which is broken)

even after doing that it still is not recognised, i think lexus need to configure it or something, the a/c works fine, the recirculate flap works etc.

sat nav was broken, i got another one, it was from a diesel. I only noticed last week it had no 'auto' function since the diesel does not need it.

the sat nav was exactly the same as my own, mark levinson, etc it works fine.

my original had a bust screen.

to put a long story short, i replaced everything from my OEM sat nav and use the with the screen from the diesel one.

so my sat nav now has all the main parts as normal OEM, but the (touch) screen is from the diesel.

I still cant get the auto function to work.

totally puzzled, i think its disabled or something.

wonder if i took out a fuse for the a/c would it reset? i see several fuses though.
