Ok, so keep the base blue......get a good vinyl graphics company to make you up some shapes/lines etc in the colours you want (in exchange for advertising their services on the car :winky: )

& hey presto you have your base colour jazzed & changed without having to respray :D

But you have probably thought of this one already, so I will now shut up :lol:

or.....I know a good graffitti artist :whistling::lol:

today................

the exhaust manifold flange arrived...well 2 arrived, and there fantastically made, thanks Robin

just confirming the order with an exhaust specialist in the US for the pipe material, so hopefully soon, will be able to start making up the turbo manifold.

This flange in itself, shows some of the difficulties im having doing this custom turbo set up.....theres very little actually available for the altezza when you really look into it.

hopefully i will only use the one flange, which means for the future, if any other altezza owner wishes to make a custom turbo set up, i will have a flange available.

i will be getting x2 T25 flanges cut aswell.....

Here are the rear Toe / traction arms

supplied by TDi, these are the same ones as fitted to the Monster.

of course, There are no top mount turbo manifolds for the 3s-ge, all the manifolds that are available are only available as built Turbo kits.

the price of one manifold i found was $3700...ye...ok

i asked a company in the uk to make me one, they wanted £1800.... :D

ill make my own thank you, Turbo manifolds are not so design dependant as manifolds for NA. where correct flow and design is critical

as such, it doesnt need to be equal length...however, i will try to make it as wonderfull as i can, as it will be going for ceramic coating aswell.....which is a £130 process

hmmm how big will the manifold pipes be (dia) i am looking into buying myself a hydraulic pipe bender in the new year for upto 31/2" tube so i can do some playing (the bumper fun book of fluid dynamics is making an appearance too :duh: )

compressor exducer is wider than the inducer. I take it that means that the compressor exit is larger dia than the inlet.

is that a connection onto the turbo itself or a divergent duct?

Wheel "trim" refers to the squared ratio of the smaller diameter divided by the larger diameter times 100. Generally, the larger the trim number the more flow the wheel has.

For compressor wheels , larger trim tends to mean slightly lower efficiency.

For "families" of turbine wheels (those with the same inducer diameter), larger trim usually means better flow with less backpressure but longer spool time.

A/R is a ratio of the exhaust discharge area vs the distance from the center of turbine wheel to the center of the cross sectional area. Smaller A/R housing has faster spool up. Bigger A/R housing has less back pressure, more flow for the top end.

HKS uses Garrett turbos. HKS GT series turbos use Garrett GT's turbine with GT's compressor.

For example, HKS GT 2835 is GT28 turbine with GT35 52 trim compressor. which is the turbo i have selected to use on the drift car, and which is fitted as Twins to the monster

here is a good site to "read up" on turbo specific stuff

Ah i keep forgetting on turbos the turbine is independant to the compressor :blush: i was thinking of the pressure loss between the comp and turbine.

was thinking you would benefit from changing a few duct shapes to gain some more pressure, however i'm back off to the dark place

next thing i will be doing is drawing up the plans for my inlet plenum....

hers an example of what im hoping to achive.

the reason is, the std inlet plenum is very small, and fine for N/A applications, enlarging the inlet and change the inlet tracts will improve flow......,

it could be im just bored :D

as can be seen, there could be some work carried out on the inlet plenum

My GT28 Turbo says A/R .80 on the compressor housing.

What means this??

Large flow, longer spool?!? :unsure:

Must ensure the largest possible internal diameter.

The Cross section @ A,B,C,D should still be larger than the remaining number of inlets. ( CIRCLE)

e.g

a = 4 x diameter of inlet + 50%

b = 3 x diameter of inlet + 50%

c = 2 x diameter of inlet + 50%

d = 1 x diameter of inlet + 50%

so, today i made it out the house,

decided that i couldnt stay in any longer and had to get on with what i needed to get done on the drifty car.

so today i removed the old aluminium boot floor, and bulkhead and chucked them....

i removed the sound deadening/dynamat....black ***** from hell :excl: ...with the gas torch :lol:

The new fuel cell, requires to be mounted into a metal box......ive made a new peice for the boot floor, which incorporates a box

....and heres a test fit before welding the new floor panel in.....also test fitted the fuel cell fits :)

Round the front, i welded up any openings in the bulkhead that will not be used....like master cylinder mount hole, clutch cylinder mount, and cable openings

tommorow should finish of the welding....and make the hold down straps for the fuel cell.....and will hopefully remove the sound deadening from the inside of the car :yawn:
