Does Anyone Know What This Could Be?

I'm looking at the MOT's on LS430's that I'm considering, one has come up with an advisory on the last test: Under-trays fitted obscuring some underside components

Engine covers fitted obscuring some components in the engine bay

Any ideas?

Self explanatory really. The MOT testers put this on now to cover themselves. It's not an advisory per se.

Basically take a look at this photo

You will see all the plastic covers, these normally hold water and therefore make things rust ie, brake pipes

All the MOT inspector is doing is covering his backside as he cannot check for rust in these parts.

It would be a good idea to take them off before MOT and inspect the condition of the stuff these covers hide as you don't want any nasty surprises
