Av Screen While Driving

Hi, has anyone managed to turn off the restriction of not being able to see AV input while driving. I have just hooked up my Iphone using mirroring but when I take off the foot brake the screen goes blank.

I have a non Nav and watching my TomTom app through AV. Everything works fine when sitting with foot brake on.

AV only works when stationary as far as I'm aware. The Non-Nav versions come with mirrorlink which allows you to display the phones Navigation on the screen, but at the expense of all other infotainment.

It's limited to Nokia and Androids though, apple have done their own in car implementation that Lexus are not using.

Just following on from this it does seem that more and more manufactures are signing up for apple CarPlay but no sign of Lexus in that list so far.

it's pretty poor that Lexus are going to launch a new vehicle soon (NX) without CarPlay or Android Auto which means it will probably be another 3 years before it is added with the facelift.

Audi have already announce that 2015 vehicles will have the option.

Whilst Toyota are on the CarPlay partners list they are one of the few that haven't actually committed launch dates. No doubt Lexus want to keep charging £2k for £200 worth of Sat Nav.
