Carbon Wrap Gear Stick Surround? How To... :$

Alright guys,

So in the process of taking off my sat nav unit the sides of the gear stick are all scratched, i have this removed and would like to carbon wrap it or i could buy a new one i don't think it would be too dear.

any thoughts, i have not carbon wrapped before.

the part i am on about is the bit the gear gaiter is attached to the 2 silver things are in a bad state/.!

what size wrap would i need for the side trims? i assume that carbon stuff is adhesive?
