New To Me Mk2 Ls400 Electrical Issues

Recommended Posts

Hi all. I recently got another LS400 and after getting her home it feels lovely but realised the central locking only seems to work from the passenger side...the drivers side only unlocks that door. Also I'm guessing its linked but the window buttons for the other windows from the drivers door dont work but for just the drivers window it does...also the memory seat controls dont seem to function? All electrics work on all other doors.

just the drivers side seem to have the issue.

it had a new alternator in November and hasnt been driven since January until I bought it. The Battery has been disconnected since January.

Please help so I know where to start lads.

thank you.

The window switches can go high-resistance and fail to operate. This happened to my car on the front passenger door, and a replacement switch panel fixed it.

What is the issue with the memory function? Does it store the position (i.e. when you press and hold '1' or '2' and 'set' until you hear a beep)? I believe the recall function is disabled when the engine is running (for safety reasons).

So you suggest a replacement door switch panel? Because the drivers windows works with the switch but none of the other switches seem to work...?

The memory setting doesn't seem to do anything. .no beep nothing, any more ideas anyone please?

Are we talking a 93-94 model here or a 1995?

For the window problem check that the square button on the driver's control pack is not pressed in as this disables all the passenger windows operation.
