Anybody else seen this offer ? If your traction batteries pass the healthcheck Lexus will warranty them for 12 months! £55 or free with a service, this shows the company's confidence as a Battery pack is rumoured to be over £2 K, mine passed today with over 190,000 on the clock.

This must help all the owners who worry about their batteries.

I think as these cars have got older perspective buyers have
shown concerns over the hybrid system and batteries, so this is a good way
Lexus can re assure them, although I would like to read the small print just to
make sure it's as good as it sounds.

Got a link to any info? Any dealership?

Shouldn't also be warranted with a service as I understand the hybrid health check is included in that?

The Battery is without doubt is my main concern as a prospective buyer.

Ah ha.

Link to hybrid healthcheck info (prev I found my way to a different section on the HH and it made no mention of 12 month warranty). I've contacted them about the t&c as it does not state on the site. I'll post them here when I have them.

If I was selling a 450h I would have a health check carried out so the buyer could have the peace of mind and 12 months worry free on the ever ageing Battery. In my months of searching for a 450 I've not seen a single one stated as having a warranty. Crazy.

People generally take out warranties if they think that
there car may go wrong, and Lexus cars simply don’t, ok that may be a bit
strong, no car is perfect and I expect your hear of the odd story. A Lexus
extended warranty costs around the 1k mark for the 450h, you may find warranty
companies offering it cheaper, but make sure they cover the hybrid and
batteries, most don’t.

So if you put that 1k in a bank in around 2 years you would
have enough to replace the batteries IF you are unlucky enough to be one of the
VERY few that have had to replace them.

Interesting.

Sent my email regarding the t&c's of the 12 month warranty 4 days ago. First reply totally ignored that part of my email. I responded, again asking for clarification on the matter but I'm yet to receive a reply.

Well, I'm being ignored. So I will assume this 12 month warranty is nothing but garbage until I find information to the contrary.

I'll try another dealer.

Two days since I contacted Lexus Uk about the terms and conditions of the supposed warranty after a hybrid healthcheck...............and no reply( made contact via livechat and they said they would respond via email).

I'm willing to bet the warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on. If there is any paper at all!

We'll see if I receive anything over the coming week. Doubt it though.

Yea, I had a cambelt change with water pump replacement today plus essential minor service and they charged me £60 extra for a hybrid health check yet I've just seen that it should be free with a service ? ( cost me £726 altogether )

I was given a "positive health confirmation sheet" and told I now have 12 months warranty on the Battery. However no papers to confirm this or terms and conditions were provided

I'll check this out and post the results.

Well, I phoned three north west Lexus dealers and they each confirmed that they would provide, free of charge, a hybrid health check and result printout which gives a further twelve month warranty on the Battery if I had a basic "essential service" done at £179 !

I went and got my £60 back !

Hi Everyone

Sorry to resurrect this post, but did Lexus GB ever send over the terms and conditions of the Hybrid Health Check 12 month Warranty?

The reason I ask is my local service centre has hunted everywhere to try and find them, but to no avail. Unfortunately Lexus GB haven't been any help so I'm beginning to wonder if they actually exist, despite owners having to actually sign that they have read and understood them!!!!

The warranty does sound exceptional for £39 outside of a service - according to my Lexus centre they are in the process of replacing the wiring loom FOC on a vehicle which became "contaminated" when the coolant pump failed on the hybrid system. So it sounds as if "consequential failure" is also covered for non-hybrid components.....

Anyway, if anyone has a copy of the mysterious T's&C's, can they please either post them or PM me.

Strange, when I had my cam belt service done they said they would check my water pump at the same time and if there was any problem they would inform me and give me the option of having it replaced at the same time as the cam belt for £100 thereby saving me £300 should it go at a later date. I later received a phone call from the young lad that there was no problem with the water pump so replacement was not needed however ten minutes later he phoned again to tell me he"d made a mistake and it did need replacing, I felt he was under instructions but rather than take a chance I had the pump replaced.

This was the same Lexus garage in Stockport that charged me £60 for a hybrid health check that should have been free !

Shall not be going back there again which is their customer loss through their incompetence ( or bad practice ? )
