Is200/2Jz Poss Project Says Hello :)

Hi all I have a is200 auto and 2jzgte auto engine box and loom/ecu and was thinking about mating the two but now having doubts as it seems quite complex with wiring and stuff :( any inspiration would be gratefull !

Hi mate..... It is complicated and many see a 2jz into an IS200 as pretty much pointless as you could just get an IS300 which already has a 2jz, upgrade the internals to 2jz-gte (stronger rods etc) and boost that. A lot simpler and cheaper.

Thanks for that and I I understand where your coming from just I have all this stuff already and am looking at later point of big hp so the 2jz a top platform in which to start . Sorry I should have made that clearer , although after further digging on the net the only problem seems to be the wiring for me now . So I will take it on the chin and say ok I can do the conversion does anyone know any wiring gurus for ££££ cheers .

As far as I'm aware I only know of two boosted 2jz in an IS in UK and they are not in this forum....They are both 300's and both supercharged on standard IS 2jz internals I believe...(Won't take more than 300/350bhp) So what you're aiming for (big bhp, I'm guessing more than 300) isn't very common here.

In America, boosted 300's are very common so you might be better off seeking advice on the US forums. My.IS etc...

I know since I've had the 300 I've been using the US forums more and more as there's a hell of a lot more knowledge over the pond on a 2jz-gte IS.

Thanks again and yep I will Dig into more euro/USA forums as I'm looking for 400hp which is nothing for the gte lump I believe . By the way great forum with some stunning cars :) cheers.
