Map Update Id

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to connect to the Lexus portal and it needs the Device ID for the nav system as part of the car registration. Try as I may I cannot get the system to recognise the digits I am inputting (assuming I'm inputting the right digits). The Map ID appears to be xx-xx-xx (2013-06-3). I've inputted just the first 6 digits without space and also with the bracketed numbers both with, and without, brackets.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Cheers

Peter

I've now gone to the eStore on the portal but seemingly there are no available software updates under Downloads? My IS is running Firmware B and so I want to update to D but unsure why no updates available.

Edit: found a solution and firmware now at D in the car. Talk about making it hard work.

Peter, congrats on getting the new car, and hope the least intuitive technological interface ever hasn't detracted too much from the experience! It will be interesting to hear if you have any glitches. The most common seem to be freezing of the nav, Bluetooth music intermittently pausing, and the the phone favourites dropping.

Personally I also think the nav destination routing is poor, and I've tried to take local knowledge out of the equation before reaching that conclusion.

Aside from that IMO it's a great car so enjoy

Yes, phone favourites dropped today but that's all I've noticed as I've not really had much chance to drive this weekend. It's no biggy as I will probably only use 4 favourites but, yes, it shouldn't happen and, yes, I'm on firmware version D.

I haven't had any problems with phone contacts or favourites on mine, (which had version D loaded before I took delivery of it), but you might try a solution that was found for the previous IS 250 model.

If you make sure your phone is switched on before you start the car you should not loses any of the phones details; contacts, favourites or call history. However, if you start the car with the phone switched off, then turn on the phone, you might lose the contacts, favourites and call history.

I haven't tried this myself yet but just wondered if you'd had your phone turned on or off before starting the car?

My phone is always on before starting the car and it makes no difference to the favourites. They drop when they feel like it, there doesn't seem to be any consistency.

Evening David

At the risk of opening a wound - there's been a lot of posts on this forum about this and other issues on some cars. As a newcomer to the forum I don't know if anyone from Lexus monitors the posts, but if they do you'd have thought they would have offered some form of explanation?

I'm in close contact with my dealer and they don't have any answers I'm afraid. My sales guy has just taken delivery of his new demo, a CT F Sport, which has the same system as the 300h. His nav has frozen a few times and the phone doesn't want to stay paired. Maybe with increased sales we will see more updates coming out. Who knows. Don't get me wrong tho, I love the car.
