[Is200] Strange Noise From The Engine

Hi.
some time with my engine emits the sound of this IS300 from the movie ...

sounds like a diesel...

I've tried different oils, also checked the valve clearance and are OK.

I have no strength ... someone met with something similar and solved the problem?

It's only when engine is warm.

Have you replaced the VVTI oil filter?

These little sub filters get clogged and therefore reduce the oil flow to the top of the engine causing VVTI timing errors.

Cost is a few pounds/US Dollars/Euros from Lexus and a 10 minute job to replace.

Part Number is 15678-46020

Listed as 15678 on diagram below.

I took out the filter and turned on the engine, is the same :(

I think that the filter is OK

Now you mention it mine sounds like that too, never noticed before. Mine is going tomorrow for front lower rear suspension arms so I'll see if they know what it is.

mines sounds exactly the frigging same, going to take my vvti oil filter out tomorrow too, but hell mine sounds like a diesel too, check my thread out for the videos)

Apparently It's common in Toyota engines. My IS300 can be a bit noisy sometimes too so I wondered the same as you. It's never as loud as in that video tho. I can only hear the loud ticking with the bonnet up.

As with yours everything on mine checked out ok
