Any one out there had to find switched live on mk1 gs300 .was goin to use ciggy lighter but can,t get the ashtray out any ideas

There should be loads about - have you tried near your ignition barrell? How about electric windows and stuff?

Yes i was hope someone could point me towards the easiest one as someone has borrowed my multi meter and not given it back.

What are you trying to do mate.. why a switch live??

Trying to hard wire the radar detector fed up with the thing stuck in the cigerette lighter cant close the ashtray.found my meter so all sorted now gave it a polish cleaned out the inside and bought one of those alloy tax holders ,must be catching the max power bug it,ll be glow in the dark water washers next ;)

just open the ashtray, grip hold of it firmly and pull towards you with a little wiggle

it just comes straight out

I know you don't have your meter, and I don't really know the GS but usually in Lexus wiring, a solid grey is a switched live if that's any help.

Pierce the cable with a pin and touch it with your tongue. Now touch an earth with your hand.

You'll soon know. (It won't hurt, just tingle a bit as the power goes on and off)
