I didn't even know mine had these until I realised the headrests were covered with elasticated cloth (presumably for security). Anyway, I don't appear to have a DVD player for them, instead, behind the seat, are three phono sockets (red, yellow, white). My guess is that you plug whatever device you want into there, and away you go. Portable DVD player, game console, etc.

Not that I'll ever use them (a modern tablet computer is far more useful) but is this likely to be an aftermarket installation? The screens are Lexus branded and my car is the SE-L variant.

The DVD player for them is usually under one of the front seats. The screens were usually installed at the port by Lexus UK.

When I bought my se -l I thought the same thing.... l have two screens but no DVD player.....until I raised the driver seat lol.

works like a treat and keeps the kids happy.

Dvd player is under the drivers seat. Look at it from the rear seats and pull the front flap down (give it a good tug) there is your unit

Should also have a usb adapter on the top of the screens. Handy for storing lots of movies rather than taking dvd's with you. Just check out the acceptable formats before ripping your dvd's.

Ah, I'd never have found it! I just presumed it was under the driver's seat from the front.

Next question, there are what look like 4 LEDs on each B-pillar, facing the rear seats. Are they lights?

These are the sensors that communicate with the 2 wireless headphones you should have also got.

Thanks guys for showing me where my DVDs need to placed! Can't say its the easiest place to access though! Lexus do seem to like burying switches on the underside of coamings as well as hiding the DVD player so that to change DVDs I have to move the seat forwards and upwards into positions no human would ever use to drive the Rx! :driving:

Ah, that makes sense, thankyou. I have the headphones, they're sliding around in a tray in the back...

Hi Guys & Gals (of course). Going on from this, I have the 2 sets of wireless headphones but the foam ear covers are falling apart. Anyone know where I can get a new set from or are they general ones I could get off E-Bay or the like? When I took one off it is slightly oval in shape so cannot tell if meant to be that way or are round ones that have just stretched.

Thanks in advance

Not on pre-facelift vehicles.

I was just going to post a new thread on the ICE. I have some old headphones but no remote. I am planning a trip to france and for the sake of everyones enjoyment I thought I should get the system sorted out. when we first got the car we tried looking for a replacement remote but could not find one, also the headphones were very temperamental (i changed the batteries) and I guessed it was down to the Bluetooth or something not working working. At the time the thought was to change the DVD player and replace the headphones (but keep the screens) I think the cost was circa £400 to do this. Has anyone else got any experience in doing this and if so whats the most economical way forward?

Thanks

You can get the remote from any Toyota/Lexus dealer not sure if there is a compatible 'cheap' alternative.

There is a handy trouble shooting guide for the system which i have attached, might help you

Also see this thread http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/82005-rx400h-se-l-ice-system/

the owners manual for the ICE is not available to download on Lexus-tech only the newer version where the screen is not in the headrest, but you can still buy the owners manual part number PZ420-E8370-64

that certainly would be cheaper - thanks a lot (and also for the trouble shooting guide - will start there before spending money!)

cheers
