Help Please...misfire On Gs300 Sport Mk1

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Bought a Sport about a month ago...cleaned the engine with some degreaser and then rinsed it with a hosepipe...now it is misfiring even after replacing the ignition lead set this weekend..when I start her in the morning she is fine but after a minute or so the misfire starts and it is really annoying.

I have ordered a set of new spark plugs but long hours at work means I will most probably only get chance to swap the old ones this weekend.

Any advice will be most appreciated.

Welcome to LOC :)

Did you change all of the plug leads, as the throttle body obstructs one of them quite badly for access?

My guess would be that the plug wells have been filled up with water and more than likely each plug well just needs drying out and then the leads re-installed. The Middle Plug well an be a pain to clear up with the throttle body on place though. Should be doable with an absorbent rag to take up all the water.

Cheers Tigerfish

I did notice some liquid in the plug wells yes..took the throttle body off when I changed the ht leads but did not clean it all up...and you are right, it is a right pig to get into those cavities. will see if that solves the problem.

Cheers mate
