Oil In Top Of Enginr

I was getting my Trottle boddy over hauled , the mechanic removed the whole unit , and was suprised to see so much oil sitting in the to of the engine, never seen this before , siad it may be seals, the oil looked very clean. Any ideas

When you say top of the engine could you be more specific?

Valve cover gaskets are prone to leaking but generally the oil leaks down the sides of the engine.

Martin, could be the gaskets for the top camshaft covers (valve covers) slightly leaking. You could get your mechanic to pinch them down a bit. I seem to remember one post where this cured a similar leak to yours.

When Trottle body was removed you can see in that part of the engine , it had a lot of oil in there, I was told that should not be there

Arr OK I see so there's oil in the intake, are you running a standard filter set up?
