Nope, it's a timing belt, I used to have a 99 celsior, that guy has been trying to sell that car for ages, but no luck, and the fact that he hasn't mentioned that the engine is misfiring, I know because I called him up just for the fun of it

It's the Dudley crew again!

I think the LS600 has a chain but none of the earlier models do.

The LS 460 and LS 600 both have timing chains. I'm pretty sure that ALL LS models up to, and including, the LS 430 have timing belts.

The replacement times for the belts vary, my 1994 LS was every 68,000 miles (100,000 kms)

some dealers are like that - ring them up and ask them about the cambelt on LS400s and they are adamant it has a chain!
