Is200 Price - Private

As some of you know I lease my car and have the option to buy it in March. I know this is a fair while away but I am toying with what to do. I am tempted to get shot as I know come 40K odd miles I'll probably be in for some expense (people have mentioned water pumps etc).

My car will have around 45,000 miles in March and I can buy it for @£10k. If I bought it then sold it on privately, how much could I expect to get (based on current prices)?

Ideally, dependant on insurance, running costs etc. I'd like to get a second-hand GS300. I've heard that the Sport isn't too everyone's taste, so if I went for an SE would I be missing out on much? I do like the look of the Sport though.

As I said, I'm just exploring my options as I need to start thinking about finances now.

Sorry - didn't mean to scare you - perhaps I was unlucky (although I know a few other members have mentioned these probs). Whatever car you get there will come a time when things like this need replacing.

What year is your car Claire? I looked at the Glass's guide, and for a T/V/W plate with approximately 40k on the clock, expect to get around 13k Private....

Yeah, i agree with Zee.. your looking at about 13-14k..

If you trade it against a GS, you might get a bit more...

The difference in the GS300 SE & Sport:

Lower suspension, cool BBS alloys, bodykit, rear spoiler...

I'd have to say go for the sport, it just looks so much better than the SE (sorry Loz)..

When I get back from hols I'm going to book some test drives to see which I prefer the SE or the Sport.

I'd be looking at spending whatever I can get for my IS200.

i think you would look better in the IS,as the lads say every car has probs,surely nowt that bad goes wrong with the 200 :)
