Okay, got a R1 DVD this morning (thanks claire :winky: )

Put it in... no probs, played just like a R2 :D

Did I mention it converts NTSC to PAL internally? :D

So im off to that site now to spend some money :D

I only use the TV in NICAM mode, the rest of the system uses a seperate amp.

I use an Onkyo 777 (THX), which outputs pretty much everything, although the manual is the size of a telephone directory

The only downside to the TV is that they decided to only put stereo OUT on the back, so i can only really use the amp for DVD playback to get the best sound.

The other half keeps asking me if im deaf

(wait till i get the SUB )

A big sub is highly recommended.

I have KEF speakers all round, and a 30B sub.

A good sub rumble to shake the pop corn is essential to the cinema vibe - it's the difference between home surround sound and home cinema IMO.

i dont use the tv for any sound

its permanently muted

all dvd,video,sat and tv out goes straight to the amp

i use a yamaha amp dont know nos.

has about 100+ different settings

also play cd`s through it, which sound good in the garden as well

if any one likes pink floyd ,get the enhanced 5:1 sound~dark side of the moon

it will have you shivering
